A starting point for every stage

We understand the athlete.
Not just the knee.

One of the hardest parts of ACL recovery is being away from your sport and wondering when you'll feel like yourself again. Wherever you are in rehab, we take the time to hear what's on your mind, show you how you're progressing, and work through the next step together.

From pre-op to game day, we build your rehab around your goals, your sport, and your surgeon's guidance. That means working toward the moments that matter to you, whether it's landing a rebound or changing direction at full speed.

The comeback roadmap

From pre-op to game day.

A progressive benchmark approach — each phase is earned, not forced.

Each phase builds the foundation for the next: measured, intentional, and never rushed.

  1. Pre-op

    Prepare for your comeback.

Restore range of motion, build strength, and improve knee control to establish a foundation before surgery.

  2. Post-op

    Restore movement. Rebuild your foundation.

Reduce swelling, restore range of motion, activate your quads, and regain a normal walking pattern.

  3. Early phase

    Rebuild strength. Regain control.

Progressively strengthen both legs and improve movement control, using objective testing to measure progress and identify strength deficits and asymmetries.

  4. Mid-phase

    Single-leg strength. Single-leg confidence.

Build single-leg strength and stability, develop controlled landings, and prepare for the demands of running and jumping. Learn to absorb forces appropriately and become confident doing so.

  5. Late phase

Power and plyometrics. Prepare for your game.

Develop explosiveness, refine landing and cutting mechanics, and build confidence through reactive, sport-specific movement.

  6. Test & return

    Measure readiness. Plan your return.

Combine strength and force-plate testing with movement assessment, confidence, and sport demands to guide a gradual return to training and competition.

Assessing, not guessing

See the progress.
Understand the plan.

Strength dynamometry and force-plate testing help turn questions into useful information about your recovery.

What capacity have you rebuilt, and what still needs work?

How do physical capacity, confidence, and sport preparation come together?

Our objective goal is symmetry between both legs.

Your team, beyond the appointment

Your support doesn't end when the session does.

Leave each appointment knowing what to work on and what comes next. Connect with your physical therapist by text, phone, or email between visits.

With your permission, we keep parents, coaches, athletic trainers, and your surgeon informed so your recovery team stays aligned.

Before you get started

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Have a question about your situation? Let's talk through it.

Can I start before ACL surgery?

Yes! A preoperative assessment can help establish your starting point and prepare you for the rehabilitation ahead. We'll discuss your surgery plan and what is appropriate for your situation.

Can I come in if I started rehab elsewhere?

Yes. We offer both full ACL rehabilitation and late-stage rehabilitation/testing. You can join at your current stage, including after completing earlier rehabilitation elsewhere. If you're continuing care with another physical therapist, we coordinate with them, with your permission, to clarify roles and keep your plan consistent.

How long will my comeback take?

Recovery varies with your procedure, healing, symptoms, physical capacity, and sport. We use clinical milestones alongside appropriate healing time to guide progression rather than promising a fixed return date.

How do you assess readiness for sport?

We consider strength, jumping and landing, movement, symptoms, confidence, and preparation for your sport. We use force-plate testing and objective strength data to measure strength and identify deficits.

What does care cost? Do you take insurance?

Overtime is an out-of-network, private-pay clinic. During your free phone consultation, we'll explain evaluation and session pricing and discuss the care options appropriate for your goals before you book treatment. Superbills can be provided for you to submit to your insurer; reimbursement depends on your plan and is not guaranteed.

Why? Your care is our priority. Our out-of-network model allows us to provide 60-minute, one-on-one sessions and build your treatment plan around your needs, progress, and goals, without relying on insurance authorization to determine your visit schedule.

Which location should I visit?

The ACL Comeback Program is available at both Centennial and Highlands Ranch through our full clinical team. We'll help you choose the location and appointment that work best for you.

Do you help athletes who have finished PT but still feel unprepared?

Absolutely. Finishing physical therapy doesn't always mean you feel ready for the demands of your sport. Our late-stage ACL rehab bridges that gap. We assess your strength, power, movement, and confidence to identify what still needs work. From there, we build a personalized plan focused on running, jumping, cutting, and sport-specific preparation.
